I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with certification in Addictions. I previously worked in a treatment center for chemical and other dependencies. I am also an Occupational Therapist and have worked for 15 years prior to being a counselor in the healthcare field. I utilize a holistic approach in working with clients. Although, I focus most on emotional health I am always considering the whole person, e.g. their physical, social, cognitive domains. Especially, in addictions attention to the other domains are critical to healthy recovery. I like to collaborate with other professionals and include family in counseling when indicated.

ACA has just launched their new blog and I am honored that they have asked me to be a regular contributor. Of course, you can guess that much of what I have to say will focus on technology, but with the vast experience and interests of the other three bloggers, counselors should find topics of interest!

We discuss various issues about using Second Life to host therapy sessions - our optimism about it as well as our concerns around security and encryption, and how we got into this field in the first place. We are so thrilled to have the opportunity to discuss this topic in such a well respected media venue. The Metaverse Journal has long been one of our favorite picks!… Continue
